The High Holidays are right around the corner and this year Metro Chicago Hillel and Base have new expanded offerings! Register for services and meals over the High Holidays at Base Hillel this year! All services will be led by Rabbi Megan and/or Rav Ezra. They are open to people of all levels and will be a mix of traditional prayers, singing, readings and explanations. All services and meals are free for students (please bring student ID with you). We also welcome young adults (mid-30s and under) to buy tickets to join us.

Rosh Hashanah

base Lincoln Park:

Sunday, September 29th:

  • 6:30 pm: Services for Metro Chicago Hillel students

  • 7:30 pm: Dinner for Metro Chicago Hillel students

Monday, September 30th: 

  • 10:00 am: Services followed by lunch -Learner-friendly traditional musical service led by Rabbi Megan

  • 1:30 pm: Taschlich -We will walk down to the lake together and cast our transgressions into the water. BYOBread or we'll have some for you! Meet at Base Lincoln Park

  • 6:30 pm: Services for 22+/non-students

  • 7:30 pm: Dinner for 22+/non-students

Monday, September 30th: 

  • 10:00 am: Services followed by lunch -Alternative spiritual experience led by Rav Ezra

Tuesday, October 1st:

  • 10:00 am: Services -Traditional Egalitarian led by Rav Ezra

  • 2:30 pm: Tashlich -Meet at Base Loop

Yom Kippur

  • 6:15 pm: Kol Nidre services with Rabbi Megan and Rav Ezra

  • 7:45 pm: Discussion led by Rabbi Megan

Yom Kippur daytime services

Wednesday, October 9th morning:

  • 10:00 am: Services with Rabbi Megan and Rav Ezra

End of Yom Kippur and break fast

Wednesday, October 9th afternoon/evening:

  • 5:00 pm: End of Yom Kippur class with Rav Ezra

  • 6:00pm Neilah (Final service of Yom Kippur) with Rabbi Megan and Rav Ezra

  • 7:15 pm: Break-the-fast dinner
