TEACHER, BOARD GAME FANATIC, WORLD'S SLOWEST MARATHONER
Karen Martin is the Assistant Director at Metro Chicago Hillel. She comes to Hillel from the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago, where she served as the Director of the Lewis Summer Internship Program for two years. Previously, she worked at Anshe Emet Synagogue, Emanuel Congregation, and KAM Isaiah Israel in various capacities.
Karen graduated from Kenyon College in 2008 with a degree in English, University of Chicago in 2010 with an MA in the Humanities, and Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership in 2013 with an MA in Jewish Professional Studies.
Karen is passionate about teaching, learning, reading, and running. She spends most of her off hours chasing around her energetic toddler.
