Hillel at Loyola University Chicago
Metro Chicago Hillel at Loyola serves Jewish students at Loyola University Chicago and plays an active role in engaging in the wider Loyola community. Through service projects, Jewish learning, social activities, internship opportunities, retreats at LUREC, travel (to places like Israel, DC, St.Louis, etc.), Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, and leadership development, our community enriches the lives of Jewish students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the entire world. YOU can get involved with Jewish life at Loyola by simply participating in our amazing programming, or even by planning programs yourself for your friends to enjoy; our student leadership board includes Judaica, Social, Volunteer, Communications, and Israel committee positions.
The Hillel Suite in Damen 241
Located on the 2nd floor of the Damen Student Center, down the hallway from the Campus Ministry offices, you can find our Hillel suite! This space is open from 6am until 11pm every day of the week. The Hillel suite is devoted to students looking for a safe space on campus to converse about everything from their relationships with Judaism to their upcoming tests. Within the Hillel suite, there are plenty of couches to hang out with friends on or even sneak in that much needed nap between classes. There is also a Kosher kitchen available, computers, games, arts+crafts materials, and Jewish newspapers and magazines. Upcoming programs and opportunities are posted on the Hillel Suite’s door… so don’t be shy, come on by to introduce yourself and see what Hillel has to offer you!
Campus Ministry is located on the 2nd floor of the Damen Student Center in suite 217, down the hallway from the Hillel suite. Hillel occasionally holds Shabbat dinners and other programs in this space. Also, the Director of Jewish Life, Anna Weinstein, can be found in her office (room 221) on the Southeast side of the Campus Ministry suite. Anna’s office is where students meet one-on-one to plan upcoming Hillel programs and talk about anything and everything Jewish-life related! Campus Ministry plays a meaningful role in supporting Jewish students on Loyola’s campus. Stop by to see Campus Ministry’s upcoming programs and opportunities!
