Yom HaShoah Program: Echoes That Remain with Alison Pure-Slovin

  • Anshe Emet Synagogue 3751 North Broadway Street Chicago, IL, 60613 United States (map)

Join Anshe Emet for a screening of the award-winning film Echoes That Remain. Produced by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, it documents Jewish shtetl life before the Holocaust by combining rare archival photographs and previously unseen film footage with live action sequences shot on location at the sites of former Jewish communities in Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, and Romania. After the film, Alison Pure-Slovin, Midwest Director of the Simon WiesenthalCenter, will lead a discussion relating to the film and the work of the Center.

In commemoration of Yom HaShoah, the Anshe Emet Men’s Club is selling candles through FJMC Yellow Candle Program. An optional yellow candle that you can light at the program may be purchased for $5. Profits from the sale of the candles will be used to support future Yom HaShoah programming at Anshe Emet.
